For East Devon District Council to be able to process your request or enquiry you may need to provide us with personal information. The personal information we obtain may include your name, contact details, and depending on the nature of your request or enquiry; card payment details or other personal information.

Your personal information will be used by EDDC to process your request or enquiry and we may use your contact information for communicating with you in respect of your enquiry.

Your personal information will be available to be seen by those within the relevant department or service and may be shared internally with other council departments should your request or enquiry require it. Externally, and depending on the nature of your enquiry, information may be shared with contractors or service providers working on the council's behalf where necessary to deal with your enquiry or request.

Your information may also be shared within East Devon District Council for the purposes of carrying out our lawful functions. Otherwise your personal information will not be disclosed to anybody outside East Devon District Council without your permission, unless there is a lawful reason to do so, for example disclosure is necessary for crime prevention or detection purposes.

Your personal information will be stored securely within our IT system and be held by us only for as long as is necessary and then in accordance with any legal requirements imposed upon us and the council's retention schedule.
